Anantnag, Mar 05 (KNO): A wounded leopard cub was rescued by Wildlife officials and J&K Police near Jawahar Tunnel on old Srinagar-Jammu National Highway on Thursday. According to the details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the injured cub was found along the roadside near Lower Munda in South Kashmir. . “A police patrol party from Qazigund noticed the cub lying in an unconscious state near Glass Tower on the old National Highway near Imoh crossing. The police informed the Wildlife Department in Dooru,” said an official, adding, “Soon after receiving the information, a team of wildlife officials rushed to the spot and rescued the animal.” A wildlife official told KNO that the cub had likely been hit by a vehicle. “The injured leopard cub was provided initial treatment and later shifted to Dachigam National Park for further care,” the official said—(KNO)
